Nora
is a spayed female Tabby of nearly 2 years of age who lives in Milpitas, CA with her
person who runs a cat boarding service, The Cat's Nest. She was brought to
The Cat's Nest at first for boarding, having been adopted by a couple who had
gotten her from the local humane society at about four months of age. It's not been clear exactly what happened, but the couple realized after a month that Nora couldn't walk like her littermate. Her movements were very uncoordinated, which was very possibly due to brain damage from the feline distemper virus at birth. Following a period of time, the couple tired of caring for Nora and Nora ended up moving into The Cat's Nest permanently, where she's been living for since October, 1998. We came to treat Nora at the beginning of this year at which time she was not progressing much, and getting weaker. Through a series of treatments, Nora has been able to sit up on occasion, and her incoordination has subsided markedly, to the point that her head now moves more evenly (and not so jerkily as at first). Recently her person reported that she was able to track with her eyes and her head movement was very coordinated. She now moves all four legs and although she cannot get up yet, everyone is optimistic that she will one day be able to get up on her own. |

Spring 1999
On Behalf of Nora ~ 1997 - 1999 (composed by her human) On May 6, 1999 sweet Nora was released to run and jump and play free of the restrictions of a body that was becoming less and less cooperative. She asked me to thank all her wonderful friends for bringing so much kindness and compassion into her life. Her heart is filled with the memories of each loving gesture and soft word from everyone who touched her life. Thank you.Susan Edwards |
