Clementine - Our Hospital Basset Hound

Clementine is a 9 year old spayed female Basset Hound who was having trouble with her back and had to have surgery for this condition (this was back in June 2002). After the surgery, she recovered very well and everyone was optimistic that she would slowly regain her abilities to walk, but this did not happen and she had paralysis in her hind quarters and only could drag herself around with her front legs. Her guardians reluctantly signed her over to the hospital for further care, as their lives were not compatible with the care that Clementine required.

In July we began to do some acupuncture on Clementine and put her on vitamins and nutraceuticals along with some Chinese herbs to help her back and post-op surgery recovery. Over the past 9 months she's had 15 acupuncture treatments and we've seen a nice improvement.

Here is a summary of her progress
